Sheffield Writers' Retreat
NEXT RETREAT: Saturday, 27th September 2014 (10am-5pm)
VENUE: Wesley Hall Methodist Church, Crookes, Sheffield, S10 1UD The Sheffield Writers' Retreat is a great place for writers to hide away from the world in order to sculpt their next literary masterpiece. It is very easy to be distracted by everyday life, and writing can often take a back seat when you are faced with family, friends and your job. A one-day urban retreat offers writer's a distraction-free space in which they can devote themselves to their writing. There is a desk, a chair, a ready supply of tea, coffee and biscuits, and the supportive company of other writers. The cost of the retreat is £15 per person and it lasts from 10am to 5pm. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day. The retreat is in Crookes, Sheffield and there are plenty of shops and pubs in the area that you can visit during our 'lunch break'. There is also a kitchen with a microwave and kettle, for anyone who wants to bring their own lunch. |
Why don't you come along and see how much you can achieve when you set aside some time for you and your writing? Remember, there are only 10 places on each retreat, so book quick in order to avoid disappointment.

Here are some nice things that people said about the retreat:
'...there was creative energy in the air. I would certainly be interested in coming to another one, and shall tell all my writing buddies about how good it was.'
'It was great to have tea and coffee made for me throughout the day...I think I actually achieved more than I thought I would today. I finished writing a scene I'd been working on for a while, and I did loads of editing and little bits of rewriting. It was an intense day, and I feel quite knackered, but I'm very, very pleased with the amount of work I got through.'
'...you looked after us very well, with the teas/coffees. I found it really productive, and I got exactly what I wanted out of it.'
'It was fabulous to be able to go on retreat without having to leave Sheffield and I got loads done.'
